Terrey's Fruit Shop, Chelsea 1885/6
Watercolour Signed with a butterfly
The Whistler Estate, presented by Rosalind Birnie Philip, 1935

Whistler focuses on the fruit display and the architectural details of the shop front. Brushstrokes are freely applied, while selected details, such as the figures, are carefully laid down, using a small brush. George Terrey's greengrocer's shop was at 45 Cheyne Walk, near Whistler's home. GLAHA 46098
